On November 17, 2006, it was announced that the “Dnister” Bank, one of ELEKS Design Studio customers, won the inter-bank Contest organized by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Association of Ukrainian Banks. The Contest included two nominations: the best annual report 2005 and the best Web site of a bank.
The “Dnister” Bank’s annual report and its web site (www.dnister.ua), created by ELEKS Design Studio, took the third and the first places correspondingly.
On November 14, 2006 ELEKS starts the first stage of selection to its Training Academy. The main course of the training is programming on .Net and C++. The total duration of educational program is 7 months (from November 2006 till May 2007 with several breaks). It has been developed for students and graduates who wish to extend their knowledge of .Net technologies and gain practical skills in this specific area. The best ELEKS’ experts with 8-10-year experience will conduct lectures and practical exercises.

ELEKS introduced the completely renewed version of its proprietary system “Doctor Eleks” at the largest event in healthcare industry in Ukraine – the Public Health 2006, which was held in Kyiv on October 17-20, 2006.
“Doctor Eleks” is a medical document-flow automation system designed to fit the needs of different healthcare institutions of any specialization and size. The first version of “Doctor Eleks” has been released in late 1990th and now successfully working in The International Rehabilitation Centre (Truskavets, Ukraine), The Elite Rehabilitation Center (Lviv, Ukraine) and The Perlyna Healthcare Center (Yalta, Ukraine). In August 2006 ELEKS released new version of “Doctor Eleks” developed on .Net technologies. On October 6, 2006, ELEKS took part in Microsoft Partner Forum in Kiev, Ukraine, which brought together more than one hundred Ukrainian companies – partners of Microsoft. Microsoft-Ukraine announced the results of the financial year 2006, presented its partner program for 2007 and introduced key initiatives in such areas as marketing, technologies, and education. According to Microsoft-Ukraine’s forecast, the Ukrainian IT market may grow up to 159% by 2009.
Microsoft introduced Ukrainian companies to Windows Vista and Office 2007, including their new functionalities. The participants of the Forum also had a chance to discuss issues related to MS products licensing.
On October 4-6, 2006, ELEKS participated in the Sixth International Fair of Investments and Real Estate “Ukraine-EU” that took place in Lviv, Ukraine. This year the main topics of the Fair included investment projects and business proposals, innovative developments and technologies, business infrastructure, franchising, and others. A wide range of opportunities for investments were presented at the Fair, including existing and planned projects.
ELEKS introduced an investment project named “Electronic health card in the medical institutions network,” the main objectives of which are document flow automation at healthcare institutions and quick information exchange between different medical organizations. ELEKS’ healthcare information system that already has a number of successful installations has become the basis of the project. The “Electronic health card” raised great interest among healthcare organizations who visited ELEKS’ stand. ELEKS representatives conducted a number of meetings with people interested in increasing the quality of medical services in Ukraine and integration with European healthcare information systems.

On Thursday, September 7, 2006, Oleksiy Skrypnyk, Sr., ELEKS’ CFO, made a presentation dedicated to the problems of delivering accounts to tax administration in electronic form. Oleksiy Skrypnyk, Sr. (PhD) has more than 10-year experience in finance and accounting. In his speech he presented new approaches in interaction between businesses and tax authorities. The topic aroused great interest to different businesses in Lviv region and gathered over 200 listeners.
The solution developed by ELEKS Software allows to make day-to day work of medical staff easier and more productive through automated documents workflow and scheduling system, create and maintain the single database of patient records, greatly reducing the number of medical mistakes and providing more effective and transparent instruments for overall clinic management.
