On October 6, 2006, ELEKS took part in Microsoft Partner Forum in Kiev, Ukraine, which brought together more than one hundred Ukrainian companies - partners of Microsoft. Microsoft-Ukraine announced the results of the financial year 2006, presented its partner program for 2007 and introduced key initiatives in such areas as marketing, technologies, and education. According to Microsoft-Ukraine’s forecast, the Ukrainian IT market may grow up to 159% by 2009.

Microsoft introduced Ukrainian companies to Windows Vista and Office 2007, including their new functionalities. The participants of the Forum also had a chance to discuss issues related to MS products licensing.

Special attention at the Forum was paid to anti-piracy policy in Ukraine. According to the latest estimates, Ukraine occupies the first place among countries that have decreased their piracy levels. At the same time, Microsoft has identified the following main directions of anti-piracy policy in Ukraine for 2007:

• comprehensive education courses for MS products users and MS partners, as well as publishing corresponding information in media and on TV
• technical enhancement of software protection
• realization of benefits for legal users, and
• support of government initiatives.
