ELEKS took part in the first Central & Eastern European Outsourcing Summit held in Kyiv, Ukraine, on September 12-14, 2007. Organized by the “IT Ukraine” Association (ITUA) and the “IT Market Group,” the Summit concentrated on:

• Analysis of investment opportunities in Software Product Development Companies in CEE;
• Presentation of the most successful Ukrainian Software Product Development Companies;
• Evaluation of short-listed case studies by several CEE companies and promoting their innovative projects among international investors;
• B2B meetings between service providers and their potential customers, as well as between companies seeking investments and potential investors;
• Discussion of CEE outsourcing development trends and competitive advantages of IT companies located in the region in general and in Ukraine in particular.

The Summit was a three-day event. The first two days were devoted to plenary sessions and discussion panels, while the third day was focused on B2B meetings.  During B2B meetings and informal gatherings that took place during the Summit, ELEKS Software gained a great opportunity to make acquaintance with potential customers and partners from other countries as well as to present its experience and capabilities. The guests of the Summit, including top international IT consultants, have once again confirmed a great interest in Central and Eastern European region as an outsourcing destination, particularly for Western European companies.  This can be explained not only by geographic proximity, but also by cultural similarity and availability of highly educated, well-qualified and multilingual specialists. Whatever the reasons might be, the fact is that the region is getting more and more attractive for IT outsourcing and is likely to become one of the leading software development centers in the world.

Overall, the First CEE Outsourcing Summit was considered a success. It has completed its mission of promoting Central and Eastern European IT industry on the world market and attracting potential customers, investors, and international consultants to Ukraine.
