What ELEKS Did: 

ELEKS maintained multi-year partnership with the customer that evolved into development of two innovative software products intended for stock exchange brokerage firms and traders. The first project was designed for online performance analysis of stock traders on the NYSE and NASDAQ trading systems. The application automatically captured each trade as it was made; creating a continuously updated database that was broken out graphically on daily or even intra-day charts.

The second project interfaced with the existing trading systems, monitored market based analytic data from other systems and alerted trader when specific indicators reached predefined values.

The web portal supplied by ELEKS for one of the European banks was designed in compliance with modern web site requirements for the banking industry.  Development of the web portal was planned as a part of the rebranding strategy of the bank.  The new web portal provides comprehensive information on banking products, services and rates for bank services, as well as enables its employees to interact with its customers.  The customers of the bank have access to the “Client-Bank” system and Internet-banking services directly from the web portal. Customers can also take advantage of various tools such as credit, deposit, mortgage loans and currency calculators available on the portal. A constantly updated exchange rates base is of great use not only to the bank’s clients, but to the industry professionals as well.

A sophisticated web portal was developed by ELEKS for a large Eastern European holding company whose main function was to manage distribution, logistics, retail and real estate holding’s activities. The Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0) web portal was also intended for the on-line access to general information about the company, the company’s employees and source for reference information. Additional functionality included: resources reservations and work orders management for materials ordering and fixed assets. Authorized users can access most of the system’s capabilities from off-site WSS/SharePoint terminals.

A Web based remote monitoring solution of the bank’s cloud infrastructure

What ELEKS Did: 

ELEKS implemented and delivered remote monitoring solution for a US financial company.

The project activities covered business requirements collection analysis, database modeling, implementation design, development, customer support, and troubleshooting.

The solution is a typical triple-tier application with web-layer implemented based on set of the GWT, GWT EXT widgets.

The JVM-instances monitoring was implemented basing on JMX-extensions. As the business layer communicates with web-layer via XML-over HTTP protocol, the necessary data can appear in the GWT store in the customer’s browser.  The database access was implemented basing on Hibernate3 usage.

The users of the solution benefit from:

• Design and implementation of Hibernate dialect for support stored procedures call with output cursors entities mapping
• Design and implementation of Thread Dump Analysing GWT-EXT Widget to simplify the dumps analysis of the JVM-instances in cloud
• Design and implementation of Cloud Graphical View Widget which supports the possibility to represent cloud zones, virtuals, physical boxes in the cloud as “live” clickable tree.  Using Graphical View Widget end-user can see current state of all cloud zones in the hierarchical manner from root zone to the virtual/physical boxes details including CPU-usage, current memory usage etc.

Cloud Graphical View Widget in fact is a GWT custom extension based on SpaceTreeLayout of the JavaScript InfoVis Toolkit (http://thejit.org/) usage.
